For over 8,000 years, the graceful Andean alpaca has dominated the highest mountains of the New World, grazing on wild pastures 4,000 meters above sea level. In 1998, we obtained our first full organic lot of alpaca fiber, including grades of fine baby and suri, as well as super fine and adult qualities.

We are pleased to offer our Organic Alpaca Angel Touch yarns in both industrial and hand knitting weights.

Fiber sorting employs dozens of women highly skilled in quality control and tactile recognition of fiber fineness. The fiber is spun in a Skal inspected mill under direct supervision.

• Almost indestructible - fine woven alpaca in good condition have recently been discovered in Peruvian ruins dating back 2500 years.
• Healthy and comfortable to wear - no lanolin or other oils in the fleece

• Alpaca fiber has a hollow fiber core - creating superior warmth with little weight.

Alpaca is lighter, 20% warmer, silkier and has no pilling compared to wool or cashmere. The finest of all Alpaca grades, Organic Baby Alpaca has a fiber diameter of 20 or less microns, and is only produced from the animal's first fleece.
