about

Our exclusive Qoperfina collection of T-shirts and polo shirts, sheets, socks and caps highlights an intimate blend of organic cotton with sustainable micro fibers of pure copper metal, recognized for its multiple therapeutic and medicinal properties for human health and well-being.

Since 1994, all of our cotton production is certified organic by Control Union / SKAL (Skal 4235 and 5051, GOTS, EU, PERU and NOP) and we are now the company with the longest history of EKO / Skal certification worldwide. We are also pleased to announce that Naturtex in 2005 became the first textile company in the Americas to obtain Fair Trade certification (FLO CERT ID 4543).

Naturtex IT IS BOTH A BRAND AND A COMPANY

Company profile, NATURTEX Textile Group in Lima, Peru Founded in 1997 by the American anthropologist James M. Vreeland, Jr, NATURTEX is a Contract Manufacturing Group, which vertically integrates the production of organic and fair trade fiber (cotton and alpaca) with the sustainable processing GOTS textile and the manufacture of clothing. Naturtex produces many ecological products of different textiles, many inspired by the ancient Andean arts of fabrics and made with relic fibers unique to the region.

Like our products, Naturtex has a long history and a deep commitment to textiles and their environmentally sustainable processing. The company has its roots in three generations in New York City, where Vreeland's grandfather, the German immigrant Karl August Hummel, founded in 1913 Hummel and Robinson Company, specialized in chemical devices for the processing of artifacts and textiles. Under the direction of Vreeland's father, James Sr., the company expanded considerably, adding vitamins and safety boosters that are still sold worldwide today. Naturtex comes from the inspiration of an immigrant in a new land, one with unlimited potential, unique resources and history, that unites peoples and cultures of North and South America.

The Naturtex Group today includes three companies, Colca Trading Company for the acquisition of natural fibers and dyes, processing aids and finishes for retail sales, EKO Peru, specialized in the manufacture and export of sustainable textiles, and JMV PERU, our property owner roots and industrial. The Naturtex Group produces more than 450 different organic textile products, including Pima and Pakucho brand threads naturally pigmented in various aspects, knitted fabrics and fabrics, organic and low impact vegetable dyes, clothing for adults, children and babies. For bed and bath, Naturtex offers luxurious pima cotton sheets, towels and accessories such as scarves, capes and hats with our unique Royal and Baby Alpaca Angel Touch fibers in natural, including Superfine black fiber in natural color without dyeing.

Naturtex supports several projects with peasants and peasant artisans from India in the jungle and the desert where they grow pima organic cotton that we use for our collections of super soft clothes and soft products for the most demanding and distinguished brands on four continents. Naturally pigmented Pakucho cotton fiber is obtained from Indian farmers in the high jungle of Peru, where the cultivation of colored organic cotton constitutes a viable alternative to the illegally grown coca leaf.
