Last year there were 28 wineries specializing in agroecological products in our country and there are currently 112.

(Agraria.pe) Each year, the consumption of agroecological products grows between 15% and 20%, said the executive director of the National Association of Ecological Producers of Peru (Anpe-Peru), Moisés Quispe Quispe.

As an example, he said that last year there were 28 supermarket stores in our country that had a section for agroecological products, there are currently 112 and more and more.

“There is a lot of assessment of the population towards those healthy food products. Supermarkets are aware that there are many potential consumers who now take care of their food, ”he said.

In that sense, he said that his representative has proposed to the Agrarian Commission of the Congress of the Republic, the creation of a Law on Participatory Guarantee Systems (GSP) that would be a national certification law.

"We believe that this approval would be important for organic producers who need legal accreditation instruments that allow consumers to have the guarantee that they are acquiring agroecological products, this could further boost the consumption of this type of products," he said.

On the other hand, the executive director of Anpe Peru referred to the eco-stores installed by his representative where agroecological products are marketed through the collective brand “Fruits of the Earth”.

In this regard, he said that they currently have two eco-stores installed in Cusco and Cajamarca and for this year they plan to open two more stores (in Piura and Amazonas) in addition to a national store in Lima.
